About the Artists

Nomabotwe
Nomabotwe Mtimkulu is a Gqebera celebrated singer and songwriter. A true artist in the making, Nomabotwe always finds ways to locate her powerful voice in other artforms like theatre and dance productions. Her service under the leadership and directorship of greats like the late Nomhle Nkonyeni and the late Stompie Mavi have ensured that she is moulded into the disciplined and intentional artists she is fast growing to be.

Nomabotwe’s career spans over 15 year and reads like the thing success stories are made of. Once a backing vocalist to the late Stompie Mavi, Nomabotwe was instrumental in the formation of acts like 3 Quarter and Maisha. Her determination and leadership qualities landed at the point of launching a solo career in 2016, the same year she won favor with the Eastern Cape Audio Visual Center (ECAVC) and was awarded an opportunity to record her body of work and set herself up in the music industry of the country.

A natural performer, Nomabotwe finds comfort in the smallest and biggest stage. As some of her highlights in her performance career she recalls performing in parliament and winning the Standard Bank ovation Award at NAF 2018 as some of her fondest memories.
