The tradition of iintsomi (storytelling) is at the heart of this foundation phase theatre production told by a narrator, uMakhulu. Her narration is performed by the co-actors in the production making it a spellbinding and interactive
work that the child audience can follow along. The children are also invited to interact with the actors, entering into the magical journey of being inside an iintsomi.
This production's outcomes are based on the audience of the day as they get to choose the next actions of the actors in the iintsomi. While introducing the children to storytelling, they are also revived by the ancient oral tradition that has been around though the history of amaXhosa, inspiring a love for reading and speaking the isiXhosa language.
