Blending the art of music and dance, Intlombe: The Ancestral Ceremony sees the fusion of African contemporary jazz mixed with ‘traditional vibes’ in a spiritual awakening. Taking to the stage with a nine-piece band, Andiswa Ndlazilwana graces the audience with her soulful voice.
Composed mostly of original content, Intlombe: The Ancestral Ceremony will entertain while inspiring and educating about the how and why some of the traditional songs have been changed to a more contemporary version. This cultural experience will also showcase some
exciting local talent incorporating traditional dance.

About the Artists
Multi-award-winning singer Andiswa Ndlazilwana, granddaughter of the legendary Victor Ndlazilwana. Her journey began with early performances at local events and competitions, where her talent shone brightly. She honed her craft as a backing vocalist for numerous renowned artists and has emerged as a powerful and versatile performer. In 2018, she made her debut at the National Arts Festival, earning a Standard Bank Ovation Award. This recognition propelled her career, leading to performances at prestigious events like the Mandela Bay Arts Festival and the Mamela Festival.
Collaborating with talented musicians, Andiswa released her debut single, Nomalanga Pamunotangira. Her band, which includes SAMA award-winning bassist and producer Edgar Muzah, was honored with the ESP Young Legends award, granting them the opportunity to perform at the prestigious Cape Town Jazz Festival in 2019. Continuing to push boundaries, Andiswa has ventured into live production direction, creating captivating performances like Intlombe. This innovative production earned her another Standard Bank Ovation Award, solidifying her position as a leading force in the South African music scene.
