Amy Winehouse - The Diva and her Demons
Misery Loves Company
Musical Theatre / Athenaeum Little Theatre

Combine a powerhouse female bass-playing vocalist with a gruff-voiced virtuoso blues guitarist and a chameleon-esque drummer that can play (and sing) just about anything. Add some award-winning tribute shows and a touring schedule second-to-none, and the end result is professional, explosive show with top-class musicianship, in English and Afrikaans, with influences of rock, blues, pop and jazz. It’s Misery Loves Company.

For the Mandela Bay Arts Festival, audiences are spoilt for choice – one
concert is the story of tragic music legend, "Amy Winehouse -The Diva and her Demons" that unpacks the brief and impactful life of this once-in-a-generation talent, who captured the imagination of both the mainstream pop chart and lovers of the timeless soul music of yesteryear...

...or book your tickets for "Jou Ma se Platespeler", a journey through the songbook of 100 years of Afrikaans music against the backdrop of changing technology and politics in South Africa, that has been touring to national acclaim.

About the Artists

Award-winning performers Kerry Hiles (bass, vocals), Kristo Zondagh (drums, vocals) and Rob Thompson (guitar, vocals) are all accomplished pro solo Eastern Cape musicians whose furniture lives in Gqeberha, while they are perpetually on the road with their trio, "Misery Loves Company" - winning hearts across the country.
