Born and bred in Gqeberha, Virgil Jacobs is one of the city’s most ambitious and versatile creatives in the field of film and video production. His freshmen filmmaking effort, Urie (2018), is a short Sci-Fi comedy that explores the impact of technology on social behaviour.
He is also known for his collaboration with award winning artist Early B, on one of South Africa's most viral music videos, Leka Djy (2015). To date, it is still the most viewed, independent, music video to come out of Gqeberha. His second collaboration with Early B, Bene Lam (2015), comes in second place. As of January 2020, these two music videos, combined, have over 3 million views.
