The play focuses on the central character, MaHlubi, who grew up in Gqeberha during a time when the country was in a whirlwind of political unrest. He was influenced just like any other young black man, to take part in the revolution and he was a master in calculating formulas to create petrol bombs. The last bomb he made, was the one that killed his own mother, unbeknownst to him because that was the day he vanished. After 17 years of not knowing if MaHlubi was dead or alive, his girlfriend and father, who were left behind after his mother’s death, are shaken by the news of MaHlubi facing the death penalty.
