Sista Kwalo is a poet, she brings an isiXhosa indigenous sound infused with jazz to her spoken word performances. Her performances have been described as a spiritual experience, taking her audience to other worlds. As a poet she tackles uncomfortable social issues, building conversations during the performance, with her audience, which extend beyond the stage after the performance.
On stage, she collaborates with musicians for a full and transcendental experience of poetry and music, including keyboard, guitar, bass, percussion, saxophone and vocals.

About the Artists
Sista Kwalo is a contemporary Poet, mainly writing in isiXhosa and English. She often collaborates with Jazz, Hip-Hop and Soul musicians. Currently she is working on a Mental Health awareness campaign titled “Healing Conversations with Sista Kwalo” which raises Mental Health Awareness through Poetry.
She has graced international stages for festivals as well as corporate events and has shared the stage with internationally acclaimed Poets like Don Matera, Keorapetse Kgotsisile Ntsiki Mazwai, Napo Masheane to mention but a few.
